After the Institute : fellows' accomplishments and assessments. 1977.

This study was designed to describe the accomplishments of former Radcliffe Institute Fellows and to assess the role of the Institute affiliation in their careers. The sample consisted of 181 women, representative of each Institute year and each program, who had been fellows during the years 1961-1962 through 1976-1977. In November, 1977, questionnaires were sent to 443 women who were former members of the Institute and were no longer in residence. Instruments were returned by 195 fellows, of which 181 were released by the fellows for inclusion in the Murray Center data bank. The brief four-page questionnaire included open-ended items on occupation and professional accomplishments, career influences, attitudes about combining and allocating time between family and career, and brief precoded questions on marital status and children. In addition, questions were asked about the role of the Institute in affecting career development, especially in comparison with men in similar fields. Only raw data are available.
